9 Months Old

Well Peter is more boy than baby now. He’s in his 9 -12 month clothes and weighs …. And he is mobile now!! He started crawling at the beginning of the month although then it was going backwards. He quite often ended up under the sofa! Then with grit determination he discovered the secret of going forward and has got better and faster, day by day. However his favorite way of getting around is holding on to your hands so he can walk!! Not sure if Ben and I are ready for a walking baby, time for stairgates!! Apparently I walked at nine months, so I don’t think it will be long before Peter will.

He’s such a happy, cheeky chappy. He babbles away and if he gets very excited his who body goes rigid and he makes little fists and starts to shudder, lol. He says “ba ba”, “da da”, “ga ga” and “owhhh” when he sees something of interest. He still get’s upset when you put him to bed though and is waking a bit more in the night for unknown reasons.

He has started to eat his toes when he’s lying down but still hasn’t got any teeth. He loves soft material and buries his head in your quilt, headbutts your shoulder and giggles when you float scarves over him.

He’s brilliant at turning pages in his board books and loves stories and songs still. He’s still fascinated by hands and fingers and watches his own for ages, bringing them to and from his face. By the end of the eight months he just started to wave which was very cool and he can sort of do a hi-five. He flaps his hands around when he’s very excited but is very gentle when stroking other babies faces and next doors’ cats.

He loves watching water and makes big splashes in the bath. At swimming he thrusts his legs and wiggles about. His pincer grip is getting very good and he can pick up much smaller bits of food. He’s a lot of fun just now.
