Sangria & Sand

We have just enjoyed a great break away in the sun with my family. We went to Javier on the Spanish Costa Blanca which is a beautiful area as it feels more luscious than the south of Spain. Our villa was in a quiet wooded area and looked out to some amazing mountains. We also seemed to be located in the garden center region … they were everywhere, selling med plants in humongous pots. There was a lovely beach  five minutes drive away which was busy but with Spanish holiday makers. Down there were lots of bars and restaurants where we headed most evenings. There were loads of lakes, hill walks through national park, old villages and coastal walks to explore. More than we could do in a week, so it’s definatly somewhere I would like to return to.

Peter adapted really well to the holiday. He was a bit wriggly on the plane but the heat in Spain didn’t seem to bother him. He loved playing in the pool each day but he was a bit scared about going in the sea. I think it was the big waves and the strong tidal pull. Ben however was in his element splashing about in the waves like a big kid lol. Peter did love sitting on the beach with a bucket of water and seaweed, eating sand and playing with the noodles.

He loved spending so much time with his Grandparents and Auntie and Uncle especially having so many people to read books to him and steal food off! He looked so funny most days, as putting suncream on a wriggly boy meant it all got in his hair making him look like a crazy lost boy!

Overall we had  a brilliant time, some of the highlights were …. making up silly pool games with Mary, spending some time alone with Ben, seeing Peter explore his new surroundings, playing lots of card games with the family, stuffing ourselves silly at the elephante restaurant and meeting a ragdoll cat and not being allergic to it.
