We’ve just returned from a wonderful holiday in Gran Canaria with Ben’s parents, Jake, Julie and wee Eve. Not only was it great to get some sun during this gloomy January but it was extra special to celebrate Carol and Michaels’ Ruby Wedding Anniversary and to spend some time with our new niece.
I was surprised just how rocky and arid the landscape was on the island. The plants really differ to that of the Balearics, a lot more euphorbia and cacti and not much else! We stayed on the south east coast in a fantastic hotel called the Gloria Palace. Everything there was top notch and very stylish, we even had an infinity pool although I went blue swimming in it!
The days were relaxed filled with coastal walks, bike rides, eating cake and entertaining Eve. We even had the pleasure of babysitting her over night and she was good as gold. As it was something on my 101 things project I could cross it off my list. I even managed to coax Julie into starting her own list!
Here’s hoping to similar getaway in 2012!!
