Another lovely visit from Ben’s ma and pa, who got to test out the bungalow. We’re very pleased that they have at last treated themselves to the caravan they’ve been wanting for a long time. It’s good to hear they are already planning trips in it and Michael did a towing course at Oatridge college whilst he was here.

Carol kindly babysat Peter so that Ben and I could have a morning to ourselves in town. We had a great time, it was like being on a date again. Weather was nice, town was quiet, did lots of shopping down George Street and had bucks fizz and brunch at Cafe Rouge. It was so nice to have a few hours for us, not to have to worry about bringing a huge change bag with us, would our clothes be vomited on and wheeling the buggy around the shops. On the drive home though we both remarked how much we were looking forward to giving Peter a big cuddle and playing with him in the afternoon.

Next we had a nice dinner out with Carol and Michael and … GASP … went out again without Peter! How spoilt are we!?! We made the most of our free time and headed to Nobles Bar in Leith to spend some time with our friends. It was great to see everyone especially those we’ve not seen for a while. Some things will never change I think, Bink and Dave M got me a sambuca. Yum yum. Nobody liked the lingering smell as I supped slowly on it so they set it alight and I downed it. How very Mom like!

Thankfully the next morning I was still able to function and enjoyed my very first Mother’s day. I’m so thankful that he’s here with us now. Peter is such a wonderful part of my life and I feel so blessed to have him with me each day. Happy happy mothers day as well to both of our amazing Mums. Here’s to Isobel and Carol for all their love and support. Thanks guys!!
