My father is very good grower of pleiones so it was inevitable that I would follow in his footsteps. I love orchids anyway but there is something extra special about this terrestrial genus especially the way they fire into life after a winter’s dormancy.
I’m by no means an expert when it comes to growing them. At the moment I am following my Dad’s advice and learning myself. He gave me my first batch last year, 2010 which are potted up in his own free-draining compost mix in plastic pots. I also have a few single bulbs from Ian Butterfield. My entire collection is almost entirely hybrids.
